Whose artistic collaborations have spanned over two decades. Pulling from their individual and shared creative experiences, Grady and Ashley craft breathtaking work across a myriad of mediums, including Broadway, off-Broadway, regional theatre, TV/film, opera, circus, and dance companies. Witnessing the two work together is a testament to the power of collaboration, where the lines between individual brilliance blur in service of a greater artistic vision.
Upon meeting in college at NC School of the Arts, the pair had successful individual performing careers before forming Grady x Ashley, a bi-coastal choreographic duo that defies genre.
Their work is as diverse as it is impressive. Select credits include "THE CHER SHOW" international showcases such as "WORLD'S GOT TALENT" on Hunan TV in China and captivating performances for Greensboro Opera's "PORGY AND BESS" and the prestigious BIG APPLE CIRCUS at Lincoln Center. Their mastery extends beyond the stage, with notable movement direction for P&G BOLD Japan featuring supermodel Miranda Kerr.
Their work for dance companies and universities includes commissions by Charlotte Ballet II, Limón II, UNCSA, Slippery Rock University, and Elon University. Additionally, their work has been presented at the Reverb International Dance Festival, the Capezio Ace Awards, and the White Wave International Dance Festival.
In the realm of dance film, Grady and Ashley have directed, produced, and choreographed several dance films, including "THE WAY BACK," "NEXT," "PANTSUIT POWER," "VOLANT MATTER," "BETTER," and "TRIUNE." They have captivated audiences and garnered recognition from esteemed film festivals worldwide, including official selections from the BronzeLens Film Festival, ADF Movies by Movers, Rethink Film Festival, and Rogue Dance Film Festival.
Beyond their artistic endeavors, Grady and Ashley are revered for their commitment to nurturing the next generation of dancers and performers. As sought-after mentors and educators, they impart wisdom and passion to aspiring artists across North America, Europe, and Asia, leaving an indelible mark on the future of the art form. Additional teaching credits include guest faculty at UNCSA, Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, The Performing Arts Project, The Limón Institute, Broadway Theater Project, and Kanyok Arts Initiative.
